The NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of Duty and Discipline, Commitment, Dedication, and Moral Values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens.

Since its inception with the 1st Travancore Battalion in 1949, and its establishment as an independent directorate in 1962, the NCC has consistently focused on instilling core values in young people, transforming individuals and impacting society as a whole.
